Reply 1988 (2015) is one of my favorite Korean dramas. Although the third installment of the nostalgic series, it’s also arguably the best of the three. The emphasis on familial bonds and friendship made this a staple of my 2015 and subsequent years after–I watched it repeatedly but it offered comfort as background noise as well. From time to time, I often recall this quote as one character found love and the other lost it. I hate love triangles…I always seem to be on the losing side. What is fate and timing but a product of our choices?
