YEARLY GOAL: SMASHED.
QUARTERLY GOAL: Maybe I was a little too ambitious here.
- 3rd QUARTER GOAL: CATCH UP ON NETGALLEY BACKLOG
Current NetGalley Ratio: 67%
This plummeted a bit because some got approved, which is both good and bad. I haven’t requested any since November so that’s good right? I’ll be working on this next year.
- 3rd QUARTER GOAL: READ JADE CITY & THESE VIOLENT DELIGHTS
Yup, these still didn’t happen although I did restart Jade City and tried to get into These Violent Delights. I’m going to still keep trying to finish these next year. I will be setting them aside for now though.
GOALS ACCOMPLISHED
YEARLY

- Reading Goal: 125 Books
- Q1: 60 Books
- Q2: 51 books
- Q3: 72 books
- Q4: 57 books
QUARTERLY

FINAL ASSESSMENT: THREE out of THREE YEARLY GOALS HAVE BEEN SMASHED! WOOHOO!

- slumps will happen no matter how hard I try to prevent them. Ride it out.
I went on an unexpected hiatus because I couldn’t find it in myself to post. I felt the slump coming and tried as much as I could to prevent it. Unfortunately, nothing worked. I learned that maybe it’s best to ride it out. I probably needed a break more than I realized. As the slump came to an end, I had a few completed drafts of reviews, and I felt a lot better about what I was reading and writing. And I found time and energy to revamp my banner and my blog images.
- Instagram is fun but internal pressure makes it hard.
I finally posted on Instagram despite opening my account a long while ago. My living room turned into a photo studio and I became an amateur photographer! I got in touch with my creative side and had a lot of fun. The members of the bookstagram community were great. The internal pressure got me. There are so many beautiful feeds out there that it made me feel incompetent; every picture I was so unpretty. As long as I can stop the negative voice in my head, I’ll continue to be active.

The Bone Shard Emperor was a fitting second book in the Drowning Empire Trilogy. It might have exceeded my expectations and the ending was amazing. I can’t believe I have to wait until 2023 for the next book. It will be a difficult struggle. (My review)

SLOWLY BURNeD ME

Thanks to Instagram I was introduced to a new author, Lily Baines. The slow burn romance hurt me, and I couldn’t decide if I wanted the HEA or for Luke, the male love interest, to keep suffering. (My Review)

LEFT ME HANGiNG

I was so mad when this book ended with a jaw dropping cliff hanger. Now, I have to wait until nearly the end of the year to read the last book. (My review)

LiNGERED LONG AFTER IT WAS OVER

I have mixed feelings about The Kingdom of Cards Duology, but there was one character I loved that I wasn’t supposed to. I feel like Janella Angeles played with my feelings and stomped on them. She’s so cruel! (Review from Worlds Unlike Our Own; Review from Chonky Books)

- It’s a new quarter and the beginning of a new year. I’ll keep my quarterly goal to catching up on my ARCs and bringing up my ratio for now.
