Prompts: Do bloggers owe their readers anything? Do bloggers deserve anything from their readers? Do you think there’s a specific etiquette that bloggers/readers should follow when interacting? Do you as a blogger pressure yourself to provide certain things to your readers? Do you do certain things when you read a blog post? (Rukky)
This is an interesting question, one that I haven’t thought about. As a blogger, I don’t have expectations of my readers. I’m just happy they stopped by. If they “like” a post or choose to comment, it makes me happy because I like interacting with them. It’s nice to know that someone is reading my content.
As a blogger who likes to blog hop when I can, I usually “like” posts I read. I want to ensure the creator knows I visited and appreciated their content. I also like to comment when possible, especially if a post was meaningful to me.
While we don’t owe each other thing, can we all at least agree that common courtesy is implicit? Be nice, even if we disagree.
This was a question that had not crossed my mind before, but what about you? I’m curious if this is something you’ve thought about. What are your thoughts?
