**I received a copy of the book through NetGalley. I voluntarily read and reviewed it. All opinions are my own.**

One of my biggest regrets last year is not getting to Catch: A Love Story sooner. I was reading off and on, and my mood was all over the place (yes, mood reader problems). I requested it because it sounded interesting, but couldn’t bring myself to pick up very much at the time. I was finally able to get to it, and it was near perfection.  I was audibly swooning, clutching my hands to my chest, and even twirling in my office chair.  I loved it so much.

After divorcing her husband, Jules returned to her hometown with her daughter in tow. She is now the captain of Branching Fishing boats and is living the life she expected, not the fairy tale one that swept her off her feet. Jules is a strong person and a loving mother, but her ex-husband’s infidelity impacted her esteem and sense of self. Not only is she afraid to love, she believes herself to be incapable of being loved. Her moments of self doubt broke my heart. While she has steered clear of the emotion, her brother’s best friend Tyler has never stopped loving her.

Tyler has been in love with Jules for nearly as long as he can remember. His complicated past and his friendship with her brother–along with being practically part of her family–have always felt like barriers too difficult to overcome even with all his success. He is swoony in the best way possible and made even more appealing because of how much he adores Jules’s daughter Bella. I was utterly enamored with him throughout the book because of his patience and kindness.

Catch: A Love Story is Tyler and Jules’s chance at love with each other. Eren captures perfectly how the past still has a way of asserting itself even when you’ve worked hard to leave it where it belongs. Despite their constant bickering when they are together, Tyler and Jules have a good relationship. I appreciated the switch in roles with Jules as the grump and Tyler more sunshine than not with this penchant for trying to fix things.

This is a slow burn of sorts as Jules grapples with having moved on but not having healed from her heartbreak. Tyler and his nearly infinite patience for the woman he loves stole my heart away. I was in love with him nearly the entire book. Catch: A Love Story is a book I wish I could read for the first time again.
